If you want to build amazing boats, we want to hear from you. Experience in the marine industry is preferred, but we are hiring from entry-level to experienced and will train the right people.
LAMINATOR Job Description Summary:
Prepare & use resin saturated fiberglass panels & molds to produce & bond together hulls, decks, soles and other yacht components for further assembly.
TASKS include:
measure & cut materials to the required dimensions using hand and/or power tools;
mix resin & catalyst in proper proportions and apply by hand or with spray gun;
clean, wax & prepare molds for use;
grind fiberglass to required finish;
paint finished surfaces with Gelcoat and/or paint;
perform rough carpentry tasks on fiberglass & structural components;
repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling & fine manipulation;
frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, ladder & stair climbing and occasional crawling, twisting and lying down;
materials needing to be lifted or carried may weigh up to 55 pounds.
FIBERGLASS LAMINATION: hand lay fiberglass and run chop guns, roll fiberglass, gel coat parts and molds, and more.
experience with some understanding of fiberglass lamination is a plus, but not required.
if you're a painter or auto body tech, laborer, or a trade skill person who wants a new challenge, this is a great option.
need to be detail-oriented with appreciation & desire to build quality products.
must be capable to move or lift molds around the shop when required, stand for long periods of time. Able to adapt to heat and dust in this work environment.
we are looking for a self-starter, keeping safety & quality in mind.
must be a reliable team player. All of us here at Little Hoquiam Shipyard are excited to get to work with new projects & teaching new laminators the proper methods of the fiberglass industry.
Pay $16.66 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. Entry-level (no experience) starts @ 16.66/hr.
Health Insurance benefits after 60 days. Major holidays off, with pay.
Day shift (Weekends off) 7:30 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. with lunch from 12-12:30 and two breaks.
Must have transportation to work and be able to pass a drug screen.
