Medical Receptionist Position Small Port Angeles medical clinic looking for a full time medical receptionist

Front office position/Receptionist primarily manages front end office work flow interacting with patients directly.

Front office has the most direct communication with patients so keeping a good rapport is extremely important.

Often patients call in frustrated about insurance coverage/medical expectations they feel have been unmet so handling these situations delicately is important.

The front is also an important screen of sorts between back office staff (MA and providers). Patients often want to call in speak directly with their provider - providers rarely have time to accommodate this during a day so taking a message and forwarding this to MA/Provider is important.

Daily Tasks:

Checking patients in/out.

Collecting appropriate intake paperwork.

Collecting insurance information.

Collecting payments/co pays.

Managing fax; sending/receiving

Managing phones; booking appointments, sending patient messages etc.

Managing email.

End of day reports & deposit.

Next day appt verification checklist.

Appointment reminder phone calls.

Insurance verification.

Scanning documents into EHR/PM.

Records requests.

Cleaning patient bathroom/front reception area/waiting room.

Communication with local ordering facilities (OMC lab/radiology). Healthwatcher scheduling/phone calls.

Weekly Tasks:

LNI portal messages.

Position start date: Tentatively March 2024

Starting rate: $24/hr with increase to $25/hr after 90 days

Typical Annual raise rate of 4%

Shift: Full time; Mon/Thur 9-3 Tue/Wen/Fri 7-5 (30 min lunch breaks)

5 PTO Holidays a year (provided they fall on a typical work day) New year, Christmas, July 4th, Memorial day, Labor day, Veterans day.

5 Vacation days annually paid

Payroll every other Tuesday
