The Accounts Receivable Specialist provides support by performing a variety of tasks, including preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable and other financial matters as assigned by the Controller. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
■ Working knowledge of computerized systems
■ Prior credit/collection experience
■ Working knowledge and prior experience with accounting activities, including general ledger debits and credits
■ Effectively prioritize and multi-task
■ Excellent people skills; ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
■ High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow through
■ Prompt and consistent attendance during scheduled work hours
■ Ability to maintain confidential information
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
■ Responsible for Olympic Water & Sewer (OWSI) and Property Management accounts receivable, processing and issuing monthly billings and applying payments. Research new services, connections, issue delinquent letters, door hangers, etc. as needed.
■ Reconcile the Daily report to bank credit cards and deposits. Clear checks daily.
■ General Ledger and Job Cost entries and reconciliation of different General Ledger accounts.
■ Fixed Asset Management and reconciliation to General Ledger.
■ Monitor multiple email accounts and forward to responsible persons.
■ OWSI accounting including IWEB payments, service change requests, late letters, etc.
■ Review all past due accounts to determine collectibles of accounts. Recommend action taken on non-collectible or skip accounts.
■ Responsible for sending letters in a timely manner for the delinquent accounts.
ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment. May lift up to 20 pounds on occasion, files, records, etc. Prolonged periods of sitting.
PAY RANGE
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour DOE
