About this opportunity: So, you want to be a news anchor? That’s good because you’ll be anchoring A LOT, plus contributing to our NonStop Local News product daily on our digital platforms! KNDU-TV is looking for a strong, experienced journalist who can command the anchor desk for our local Telemundo broadcasts, mentor a newsroom of young, hungry reporters, take an active role in shaping our newscasts, embrace the ever-growing digital opportunities available to us and be willing to own the big story from time to time. The right person for this job thrives in a collaborative environment and embraces a team mentality. In addition to your journalistic skills, we expect you to be engaged with and involved in the communities we serve.
You will be the face of the Telemundo broadcast, but you’ll also understand and appreciate the contributions of those behind the scenes who play an integral role in getting our daily news product on air. Required Qualifications & Skills: Previous reporting or anchoring experience with a professional broadcast, print, or online news organization is required; Must be able to speak and write fluent Spanish and English; Experience with mobile reporting tools; Willingness to work overtime when necessary; Knowledge of and desire to participate in social media; Ability to adapt in a changing media and technology landscape; Bachelor's degree in Radio/Television, Film, Fine Arts, or related field is preferred.
Other Requirements: Passion and dedication to news; Great storyteller who writes to video; Ability to meet daily deadlines and work cooperatively with other staff members; Ability to produce a solid, accurate newscast; Experience editing news copy and video; Newsroom computer software experience preferred; Must possess a valid driver's license with no DUI convictions; Ability to carry thirty pounds of television equipment.
What we offer:
Salary Range: $34,000 - $37,000 annually + Signing Bonus or Moving Expenses
