Elk Haven Winery in Eastern Washington is Hiring a Part-Time Tasting Room Associate with Winery, Distillery, Brewery or restaurant experience.

Overlooking the Yakima River, Elk Haven is a winery and tasting room on Red Mountain in Benton City, WA. In keeping with Red Mountain tasting room traditions, Elk Haven Winery will provide the highest standard of service to its guests while featuring Pacific Northwest wines for tasting and purchase. The Elk Haven Winery tasting room will offer its visitors an everyone-welcome, come-as-you-are atmosphere immersed in a stunning, elegant environment.

As a Tasting Room Associate chosen for the position, you will report directly to the Winery Manager and work closely with your fellow Tasting Room Associates to deliver the Elk Haven experience.

What You Will Do: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Greet each guest warmly and genuinely, in a timely manner.

Present a professional, positive demeanor to visitors.

Pour, present, and sell wine.

Actively promote the benefits of our wine club.

Share the Elk Haven story and explain our winemaker’s philosophy and style.

Educate guests on Red Mountain wine country information.

Provide guests with a tailored and unforgettable experience.

Check out customers and assist with the carryout of purchases to their vehicles.

Check identification as required by WA state regulations for serving alcoholic beverages.

Recognize the symptoms of intoxication and inform management.

Maintain the tasting room sales floor and additional facility areas.

Prepare and serve simple food items in accordance with local Health Department regulations.

Requirements for the Position: Must be able to commute to the Elk Haven tasting room, be 21 years of age or older, and have:

Experience in a winery, brewery, distillery, restaurant, or tasting room.

A passion for wine.

Willingness to drug test, including marijuana.

Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, and talk for lengthy periods of time.

Ability to multitask and switch tasks quickly.

Demonstrated people skills.

Computer experience with POS software or ability to learn them.

Availability to work a varied schedule which may include weekdays, weekends, and evenings.

Current Washington State Food Handler's card or ability to obtain one in the first 30 days of employment.

Current Washington State Class 12 (MAST) Liquor Permit or ability to obtain one in the first 30 days of employment.

What Will Set You Apart:

High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.

Bachelor’s Degree.

Beginning, intermediate, or advanced CSW, CWE, Sommelier, WSET etc. certification.

Enrollment in a university or college hospitality or enology program, etc.

Experience in the winery industry.

Experience with winery software.

Hourly Compensation:

$16.28/ Hr + Pooled Tips
