MUST HAVE PRIOR VESSEL OR HOTEL HOUSEKEEPING EXPERIENCE
Ocean Peace Inc. is looking to hire an experienced housekeeper to work on board a vessel operating in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.
Must have experience in a professional housekeeper position.
This position works 12 hour days, 7 days a week cleaning, laundry and assisting in the galley for a crew of 50+.
This is a contract position that works 75 days on and 75 days off.
COMPENSATION
Pay is based on crew share (percentage of the catch) and is based on the actual sales price of the product produced on your trip(s). We cannot guarantee any specific amount you will earn in any given trip.
We participate in the E-Verify Program.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Must be able to understand English for safety reasons.
-Board and exit the vessel by gangplank or Jacob’s ladder without assistance.
-Board or exit a skiff without assistance in all weather conditions.
-Ascend and descend steep stairways and ladders in all temperatures.
-Work at least 12 hours per day, seven days per week for the duration of the contract.
-Ability to repetitively lift boxes of up to 55 pounds for long periods of time.
-Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
-Don life jacket, life vest, and survival suit without assistance.
-Live and work with others in close quarters.
-Be away from medical care and supervision for 3+ months at a time.
-Share crew quarters, bathroom facilities, and common dining areas with other crew members.
-Must be able to pass pre-employment and random DOT drug tests per USCG regulations.
