Find your future with us.The Production Systems Design team in the Engineering & Product Support Division (Boeing Information Technology & Data Analytics) is looking for a Mid-level Software Developer to work on tools that form the backbone of the Boeing fabrication system in our Authoring Process Planning (APP) space. This position can be based in Kent, WA or Everett, WA and the selected candidate will be expected to work occasionally at various Puget Sound sites such as Auburn, Kent, Seattle, Renton, and Everett. The Mid-level Software Developer will collaborate with team members located in the Puget Sound (Washington), Charleston (South Carolina) and Bengaluru (India) to develop and maintain software solutions to meet customer needs.Authoring Process Planning (APP) applications provide engineers with the tools to author, simulate and manage manufacturing requirements to derive manufacturing plans from product design intent. The products in this portfolio support the generation of about 17K process plan/day (> 2 million active plans today) for premier programs with Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP2) and thousands of processes plans for the 787 programs with DELMIA (Digital Enterprise Lean Manufacturing Interactive Application) process planning. We provide a comprehensive authoring, process, and resource planning solution suite across Engineering functions. Includes Manufacturing Engineering (ME, Industrial Engineering (IE), Liaison Engineering (LE) and related Factory Flow & Simulation teams. APP is required for planning Manufacturing of parts and assembly of aircraft.Position Responsibilities:

Performs the design, program, test, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of complex computing applications and software i.e., web application(s) and Application Programming Interfaces

Collaborates with product managers, product owners, technical team members, business stakeholders, and designers to implement enhancements to the applications

Performs analysis of end user processes to define application requirements

Writes and compiles complex code based on documented design or designs application architecture that integrates application software and delivery subsystems for specific applications

Modifies or upgrades complex applications to maintain functionality and performance

Identifies and recommends improvements

Performs design review meetings to assist in the software design process

Develops software solutions to meet design specifications utilizing standard methodologies and tools

Performs unit testing to validate software meets design specifications

Develops and manages test plans and procedures to verify that the solution meets the requirements

Identifies and dispositions defects as required

Assists in validating discrepancies and issues

Assists in the development and execution of implementation plans

Ensures that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions

Contributes to the ongoing learning and success of the team, and the company, by sharing knowledge through mentorship, collaboration, and aiding in the documentation

Keeps job knowledge up-to-date by studying new development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal and professional networks; participating in professional organizations

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

3+ years of experience programming in C, C#, C, Visual Basic, Java or Python

1+ years of experience developing applications with SQL and/or Oracle databases

1+ years of experience with release tools (Azure DevOps, Artifactory, Gitlab, Maven), configuration management, monitoring, virtualization, and containerization

Experience working with software development lifecycles

Experience with test-driven development and release management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Technical bachelor’s degree or higher

Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Experience with Agile and/or SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies or others such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Azure,or OpenShift

Familiar with micro-service-based architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes

Experience developing web applications and web services

Experience in application integration/migration with both COTS and In-House applications.

Strong communication skills, willingness to adopt a user-centered mindset

Familiarity with industrial engineering, scheduling, configuration management, workflow management skills

Familiarity with AI development and implementation.

Willingness to work in a factory environment to ensure the success of the process and software

Typical Education/Experience: Typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience.
