Description We are looking for a meticulous Controller for a not-for-profit based in Kent, Washington, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for automating financial processes, ensuring clear financial record-keeping, and conducting audits. You will also work on financial reporting and budgeting, among other finance-related tasks. Responsibilities Oversee the organization's financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing Implement financial management mechanisms to minimize financial risk Conduct detailed reviews of financial reports and accounting information Manage the process of financial forecasting and budgeting Work on the improvement of financial processes for efficiency and accuracy Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance Monitor financial details to ensure legal compliance Collaborate with the executive team on financial decision making Utilize financial software for streamlining accounting functions Manage grant accounting and ensure proper utilization of funds The role requires proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Abila MIP, and Microsoft Excel. You should also have a strong understanding of accounting functions, accounts payable and receivable, auditing, and budget processes. Knowledge in grant accounting, annual financial reporting, board reporting, and financial reporting is also necessary. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Requirements Candidate must have more than 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position Proficiency in Accounting Functions is essential Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required Understanding and familiarity with Auditing processes Ability to manage and streamline Budget Processes Proficiency in Quickbooks Online and Abila MIP Skills in Process Improvement are necessary Experience in Grant Accounting is preferred Ability to handle Annual Financial Reporting and Board reporting Strong skills in Financial Reporting Mastery of Microsoft Excel is essential Candidate must have excellent communication skills Capacity to work in a team environment and lead a team when necessary Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred Proficiency in using financial software and databases Excellent organizational and leadership skills Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity Strong stakeholder management skills Ability to strategize and solve problems Strong business acumen and principles Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models Excellent organizational and leadership skills Compliance oriented Proficiency in risk management and corporate governance.
