DISCLAIMER: This position is fully onsite in Pasco, WA - The company offers a relocation package Description:Aston Carter is partnering with a local company to find an experienced Controller to join their accounting team. This individual would be responsible for, but not limited to the following:The Controller/Director of Accounting must have solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Controller will report to the General Manager and assist with developing internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning. The role requires at least 10 years of progressively increasing experience in accounting, and supervision and training of accounting professionals.The Controller will report to the General Manager and company owner. The role requires at least 10 years of progressively increasing experience in accounting, supervision and training of accounting professionals. Responsibilities:Financial Analysis & Reporting

Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting functions

Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

Cash Management

Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding daily cash requirements, capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with General Managers and company owner

Coordinating reporting activities of external auditors

Oversee the cash management function of all company entities

Management

Hiring, training, leading and retaining skilled accounting professionals

Evaluating the effectiveness of ERP software and supporting database, as needed

Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

Reporting results and assisting company personnel with their management responsibilities

Required Skills: Attention to detail – must have a clear sense of the company’s operations and be able to identify trends and irregularities Understanding of cost accounting, recording and utilization of operational metrics for internal management Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices, state and federal laws, standards and regulations Ability to work well with senior executives and company staff and mentor/lead accounting team members Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Teams and enterprise database systems such as Acumatica Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to produce and present findings to company leaders and managers Excellent communication and presentation skills Advanced experience in Microsoft ExcelEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in relative field required such as accounting or business administration Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued Minimum 10 years’ experience in the accounting field, with at least 5 years supervising accounting staff Experienced month end closing with multiple companies and intercompany transactionsExperience Level:Expert LevelBenefits Medical, Dental and Vision Health Coverage401K-with Employer match (up to 5% match)Six company paid holidaysPaid sick and Vacation Life InsuranceAbout Aston Carter: Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions to thousands of clients across the globe.
