Staff Accountant

Description We are in the healthcare industry, specifically located in Everett, Washington, and looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team. This role involves hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and various ad hoc projects. The position is a short-term contract employment opportunity which requires skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and Microsoft Excel.Responsibilities: Handle the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with finance policies and procedures Manage the processing and collection of accounts receivable by accurately invoicing customers, posting and reconciling payments, and pursuing collections on overdue accounts Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure it is accurate Regularly maintain and update journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepare closing journal entries, posts accrual entries, and prepares financial statements Utilize Microsoft Excel to create detailed reports and financial analyses as needed. Requirements Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Must have experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. Proven ability in conducting Bank Reconciliations. Familiarity with handling General Ledger and Journal Entries. Demonstrated experience in Month End Close procedures. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and data management. Previous experience in the Healthcare/NHS industry is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must adhere to confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive financial information. Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus. Must be legally eligible to work in the respective country of employment.
