2025 STEM Summer Camp Counselor in Whatcom County and Skagit
(we are currently full for summer camp counselors but feel free to send us your resume for the fall!)
The Coding and Robotics Club is a five year old company offering in-person year-round after school programming and summer camps to over 700 children! Our camps are day camps 10am-3pm and feature a variety of topics, themes and activities. They are located out of Skagit and Whatcom and counselors generally take their camp on the road to all locations. We are currently looking for:
Coding Counselors (most kids work in Scratch, ScratchJR and JavaScript) on our curriculum software.
Robotic and Drones Camp Counselors (we use VEX but Legos/first transfers easily!)
Environmental Counselors for “Dirt Camp”
Lego Camp Counselors (know We-Dos? Spikes? Mindstorms? Come play with us!)
General STEM lovers who can do or learn a little bit of everything, I mean these are 3-5th graders, you can probably out-code most of them but we do 3D printing, App Development, AI, Microbits, garage band, or any other fun skill YOU can bring to the table!
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our counselor positions require some previous coding/technical experience. Previous experience working with groups of kids is also necessary. We want someone who LOVES kids and wants to bring their love of STEM and technology to our campers!
JOB DUTIES:
Camps run 10am-3pm Mon-Fri. Each camp will rotate between locations. Must provide own transportation (carpooling with other counselors is encouraged) and work times are 9am to 4pm each day.
Directly supervise 3-7 students per day including participating in lunch time outdoor games.
Provide support and encouragement when students become frustrated/distracted
Inspire students to take on new projects using more advanced technologies - we love energy!
Interface w/ parents during pickup (ex: student's progress, any breakthroughs, goals).
Build additional challenges that will engage your students in an area that excites you!
REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with groups of kids, ex: after school programs, babysitting, summer camps…
Ability to build relationships with students and provide encouragement and fun
Desire to learn new coding languages/platforms for our tech camps
Must be fully vaccinated including booster and show proof upon hiring
Must be First Aid CPR certified by the first day of Summer Camp
