Executive Assistant (Bellingham)

ATSI has been Making Sustainability Possible: Since 1982. We do environmental science, land use, and mitigation, and we are currently looking to fill the part-time Executive Assistant position.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Primarily this position will help the ecological team, secondarily the position will fill in work gaps for the mitigation as well as the management team. The hope is that this position will grow into a full-time Staff Ecologist position.

At times, be able to:
- Be on your feet for eight or more hours at a time
- Navigate thick underbrush including blackberries for eight or more hours at a time
- Navigate over and through downed forestry as well as in dense woods for eight or more hours at a time
- Dig several holes about 12-24 inches deep 4" in diameter
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE:
Working outdoors
Writing reports for municipal jurisdiction to review
Controlling invasive species
Working with Asana, or other project management software
Working with AUTOCAD, QGIS, or other mapping systems
With Perming
With Land use
With Development
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection
Data plot soil samples
GPS data point collection
Field notes
Visual inspection of soil colors
Storm water samples
Photos
Transects
Plant identification
Percent coverage of plant
Reporting
Field work prep
Document drafting
Document editing
Creation of CAD and QGIS maps
Maintenance
Invasive control
Plantings
Erosion Control Measures
Installation of split-rail fence and signage
Priorities of this position are
1) Field Work (both for ecologists and mitigation)
2) Field Work Preparation
3) Office tasks (for ecologists, mitigation, and management team)
4) Training (Wetland Biology, Wildlife Ecology, Native Plant Identification and Maintenance, Professional Development, Jurisdictional Permitting, Development)
Compensation
$18-$20/HR. based on experience
