Receptionist (part-time)

This position has the responsibility to warmly greet and welcome visitors and

family members both by phone and in-person. The position receives and directs telephone calls and greets and assists visitors to maintain building security in accordance with CHCC policies and procedures. Provides clerical support and performs accounting functions to assist other department staff.

Shift: 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Thursday and every other weekend. Weekend and holiday availability required. Ability to pick up additional shifts as needed.

Wage: $17.50 to $23.55 per hour, DOE.

Responsibilities:

Communicates and works smoothly with residents, families, supervisors and co-workers.

Respects and abides by Resident Rights.

Maintains confidentiality in all things relating to residents and staff.

Reports resident abuse according to CHCC policy.

Greets, directs and assists visitors in a warm, friendly manner.

Ensures visitors abide by all infection control protocols. Must be able to intervene and re-direct visitors and/or residents that are not adhering to core infection control and visitation protocols.

Answers the telephones in a friendly manner, directs calls, and takes written messages as needed.

Manage the staffing phone as requested, including answering, taking messages and assisting to find replacement nursing staff for upcoming shift.

Maintains the work area in a neat, orderly manner.

Receives and directs incoming faxes. Sends faxes as needed. Assists with sending mail and distribution.

Maintains facility calendars for various meetings.

Provides clerical support for all departments.

Makes photocopies for other departments as needed.

Collates the admission and financial packets.

Assists Accounts Payable with receipts and record keeping.

Provides general information about the facility such as services provided, location, etc.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience working in an office environment providing customer service and clerical support is preferred.

Able to lift and carry general supplies that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; legible handwriting.

Pleasant, friendly telephone skills.

Maintain high standard despite deadlines and pressures.

Able to effectively utilize a variety of office technologies, including a computer, printer, copier, multiple line phone system, 10 key and fax.

Proficient with software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
