Brist Mfg. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse and Inventory Manager to lead all aspects of our warehouse, inventory and fulfillment operations on-site, at our 15,000 sq ft Bellingham, WA based location.

Our ideal candidate can demonstrate they have 5 years of applicable warehouse and operations experience, they are a dynamic team supervisor and KPI leader, and the ultimate manager of projects and initiatives that improve processes, drive efficiencies, reduce waste and create value. We would expect previous work experience includes LEAN and/or Six Sigma warehouse experience.

This position requires strong problem-solving and space optimization skills; effective, timely and accurate communication across the organization; the ability to drive processes and results forward within time constraints; attention to detail. The individual should feel comfortable solving complex issues and proactively asking questions.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager plans, oversees and coordinates daily warehouse operations to ensure departmental and company goals are achieved. This position provides administrative and troubleshooting fulfillment support to the e-Commerce team, drives lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and is responsible for the full transition of inbound and outbound materials, shipping and logistics, and the accuracy of inventory transactions associated with e-Commerce, Rora Blanks and the sales sample stores. The Warehouse Manager supervises 5-6 team members and seasonal temporary labor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Warehouse

-Manage the daily operations, maintenance of a 15,000 sq ft warehouse

-Lead daily standups with the entire team and direct daily activities related to all inventory, ecommerce, fulfillment and shipping operations

-Work within Brist Operating System (NetSuite / RF Smart (WMS)

-Operate a clean, well-organized warehouse, implement daily Lean 3S/5S initiatives, create a place for every needed tool/resource and red tag unnecessary items

-Optimize the warehouse layout, racking, workstations and equipment to maximize space utilization, reducing movement and creating efficiencies as necessary to scale for growth

-Manages warehousing of Partner Stores, Brist Sample Store, patch inventory and all related ERP transactions and functions

-Measure productivity and evaluate direct and temporary staffing needs based on metrics, performance, capacity, seasonal staffing needs, determine labor needs to meet production goals

-Oversee the transfer and transaction of materials and finished goods (internal and external), ensure on-time partner, customer and tradeshow deliveries, produce quality shipments that reflect Brist practices and SOP’s

-Manage accurate internal and external communication, provide timely resolution to problems and unforeseen issues

-Prepare, update and post organization’s warehouse operating policies

-Champion LEAN and Kaizen events to continually improve processes and reduce waste

-Meet regularly with staff to provide ongoing job performance feedback, trial period and annual reviews.

-Provide strong leadership, motivation, supervision and training to department leads and production team members

-Work closely with the CEO and HR Department to recruit and hire, onboard, provide employee feedback, disciplinary action and evaluate performance

-Partner with local temporary agencies to flex workforce needs to meet seasonal spikes and special project timelines

-Constantly evaluate and when necessary, re-align team to ensure that the team workload is balanced and is working efficiently

-Ensure QC and AQL procedures are current, gather metrics and initiate corrective action

-Maintain a sustainable cycle counting system and reporting process that regularly assesses the health and accuracy of all ecommerce stores, Brist blanks and the Brist sample store

-Lead improvements in shipping methods, reductions in shipping rates and materials

-Establish and maintain all applicable SOP’s to create more efficient onboarding of new employee knowledge

-Ensure OSHA warehouse and equipment regulations and safety compliance

-Lead safety committee initiatives, monthly meetings, update documents

-Onboard new equipment, ensure existing equipment is maintained and in working order

-Communicate with the property management company to resolve building and maintenance issues covered under lease agreement

-Performs other related duties as required

e-Commerce

-Administrate fulfillment and transaction operations, troubleshoot related issues, ensure functionality and minimize customer fulfillment loss

-Prepare and update upstream reporting to leadership detailing e-Commerce fulfillment activity, warehouse space constraints and utilization

-Work closely with the e-Commerce team to determine and plan for unique assembly, packaging, bundling and shipping requirements

-Oversee the timely onboarding/off-boarding of e-Commerce customer products and inventories

-Work with ecommerce team and customers to resolve inventory discrepancies, provide assistance during customer audits and inspections

-Produce monthly e-Commerce inventory reports to AM’s including current and historical sales, data and transactions to drive revenue and product replenishment opportunities

-Be available to assist in relevant e-Commerce meetings, tours, audits, unannounced client visits

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, TRAITS:

-Bachelor's degree or related education and experience

-5 years of warehouse supervisory/management experience

-Demonstrated experience using ERP and/or applicable operating and fulfillment systems

-Extensive knowledge domestic and international shipping processes, regulations, use of FED EX, UPS, USPS operating systems

-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Strong problem solving and space optimization skills

-Lead and inspire others through mentoring and training up employees

-Flexible with the ability to prioritize and manage changing demands with growth

-Ability to collaborate across teams to achieve department, company and customer results

-Positive, can-do attitude, problem solver

-Consistent work ethic, time management skills, and self-motivation

-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management, Shopify

-Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs
