Description:

In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe and clean environment for the people who live, work and visit at Christian Health Care Center.

Job functions:

Works alongside employees to promote a team effort and maintain the highest quality of resident service.

Communicates and works smoothly with residents, families, supervisors, and co-workers.

Respect and abide by Resident Rights.

Maintains confidentiality in all things relating to residents.

Good attendance is an essential requirement of this position.

Responsible for the maintenance and primary care of facility floors, including stripping, waxing and buffing.

Performs restoration of resident rooms (move items out, change curtains, touch up paint and put things back together).

Maintains floor cleaning supplies in an orderly manner.

Maintains and repairs equipment as assigned.

Performs in-house facilities maintenance and repair, such as door and hardware repair and installation, changes light bulbs, etc.

Completes and processes work order requests in a timely manner.

Performs minor plumbing jobs as assigned.

Maintains and repairs call light system.

Assists in monitoring and tracking inventory levels.

Provides assistance and backup on grounds-keeping duties as needed.

Provides assistance to housekeeping and laundry functions as assigned.

Maintains documentation of maintenance activities in the TELS software system in a timely manner.

Conduct and document routine safety inspections of Nurse Call Light inspections, Water temperatures, DME/Transfer Poles, Bed Rails, Railings, Eye Wash Stations.

Qualifications:

Support CHCC’s mission.

High school diploma or equivalent.

One or more years of experience providing facility and equipment maintenance and repair.

Able to lift, carry and maneuver equipment and supplies weighing 50 pounds or less.

May be exposed to biohazardous waste materials; may be required to wear a respirator at times.

Skills:

Able to read and comprehend written and spoken English.

Punctual and dependable attendance.

Able to perform physical tasks listed below and repeatedly lift 50 pounds.

Able to verbally communicate in a pleasant, professional manner.

Able to work well with others.

Able to work independently and stay on task.

Able to troubleshoot and do minor problem-solving.

Work schedule: 30-40 hours per week, primarily 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus availability for rotating through weekend on-call coverage, evenings and weather-related emergencies, as needed.

Compensation:

The wage range for this role is $23 to $30.95 per hour, depending on experience.
