As Christian Health Care Center’s human resources director, you will be responsible for building a team that provides skilled nursing care to elders and medically fragile individuals. The work you do will impact approximately 200 staff members, CHCC residents and the greater community.

Job functions:

Provide qualified candidates for vacant positions, manage the selection process.

Assist in conducting background and reference checks.

Develop, revise, interpret and administer personnel policies and procedures. Meet with employees individually or in groups, as needed, to explain policies and programs.

Act as CHCC’s EEO officer by implementing, monitoring and updating the Equal Employment Opportunity program. Conduct or coordinate investigations related to discrimination or harassment complaints according to policy.

Manage the drug and alcohol testing program.

Deliver presentations to employees, managers or board members, as needed.

Develop and coordinate the professional development program, including both on-site and off-site training opportunities.

Maintain working knowledge of all federal laws and guidelines related to the Affordable Care Act, FMLA and WPFML to ensure compliance.

Work with the L&I third-party administrator to manage the worker’s compensation program.

Manage personnel programs, including but not limited to new employee general orientation and Lynden Healthcare Education enrollment coordination.

Monitor staff completion of required annual in-service training and communicate with supervisors as needed.

Participate in the facility’s QAPI program and prepare monthly employee turnover reports.

Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible HR experience required.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or a related field required. A combination of education and experience may qualify a candidate for this position.

Must have experience in recruitment and selection, employee relations, policy development, benefits and compensation administration, and worker’s compensation.

Knowledge of modern principles and best practices in personnel management and public administration.

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.

Experience in a health care setting preferred.

Skills and traits:

Strong leadership and management skills, including problem-solving, decision making and coaching.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to make public presentations as needed.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Able to establish and maintain constructive relationships with applicants, staff, other department managers and the public.

Knowledgeable and supportive of CHCC mission and philosophy.

Proficient with various software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Work schedule: Full-time, 30-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional days and times may be required.

Compensation:

$33.50 to $45.09 per hour, DOE.
