POSITION: Agency Affiliated Counselor

PAY: $22 per direct client hour (at least 10 hrs/week)

SCHEDULE: Clinicians choose their own hours & days, Mon-Sun between 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. Paid supervision (both individual and groups) available.

LOCATION: In-person at Blaine, WA and/or Everson, WA. Or Hybrid (remote & in-person)

Touchstone Counseling is looking for individuals who are passionate about helping & empowering others to develop positive coping skills and to thrive in their environment. We are looking for individuals who are willing to work in-person with youth ages 5-17 years old at our Blaine, WA and/or Everson, WA locations. Hybrid (remote & in-person) is also available.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Agency Affiliated Counselor holds a vital role within our organization, contributing significantly to the provision of counseling and therapeutic support for adolescents facing mental health crises. This section outlines the key responsibilities and qualifications expected of an employee in this position.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

- Experience working in the mental health field is preferred but not required.

- Maintain state licensure or certification as a counselor or therapist (AAC, CG, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).

- Demonstrate ability to de-escalate & provide crisis intervention and counseling with adolescents.

- Possess knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities for youth mental health.

- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills such as empathy & active listening.

- Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

- Commit to maintaining ethical standards and client confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Crisis Intervention: Execute immediate and effective crisis intervention services for youth in acute emotional distress. Engages in a collaborative treatment team to gauge crisis severity and formulate appropriate intervention plans.

- Individual Counseling: Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with adolescents, addressing and mitigating mental health challenges. Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals.

- Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with other team members, including other Touchstone counselors, psychologists, social workers, and case managers. Provide consultation and support to families, caregivers, and external agencies involved in the youth's care.

- Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes and treatment plans. Prepare timely and comprehensive case notes for internal and external use, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards.

- Community Outreach: Engage in outreach activities to raise awareness of available services and reduce mental health stigma. Establish and maintain positive relationships with community partners, schools, and referral sources.
