Larrabee Lager Company is a local brewery in the Cordata neighborhood of Bellingham with a core focus on brewing traditional lager beer styles. We are searching for a PART-TIME SEASONAL KEG WASHER to assist in production through the summer. Applicants should have a strong passion for beer, and while previous experience in a brewery is not required it is preferred. Homebrewers or those searching for entry level beer industry employment are encouraged to apply.
JOB SUMMARY
Provide assistance to the head brewer in various beer production and cleaning based tasks.
SALARY and WORK SCHEDULE
hourly wage of $21.00 per hour + shift food and drink
work schedule will begin as PART-TIME, but hours may increase based on brewery needs: 24-30 hours per week following a 3 days per week, 8-10 hours per day schedule : Monday through Wednesday, 7a-5p.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Keg and draftline cleaning
Brewery cleaning and scrubbing
Light cellar tasks and other entry level production responsibilities
Preparation and loading of wholesale distribution orders
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
knowledge of safe and appropriate operation of pumps and other brewery equipment;
ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing;
ability to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in extreme environmental conditions;
ability to lift and carry weights in excess of 50 pounds;
ability to work cooperatively as a team member; and take direction from production staff, and work independently and efficiently.
ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Love beer, work hard.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in the brewery with exposure to water, steam, co2, chemicals, and compressed air. Worker must have overall stamina to perform moderate to strenuous physical activity, including ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, working in wet areas, or work in tight or confined spaces. Must be able to work from a ladder and at heights of up to 10 feet. Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds and carry and lift that load off/on of stacked pallets.
