Position: Assistant Trackside Manager
Schedule: During Trackside season, the average work week is 40 hours, split between administrative work and bar shifts. Administrative work is expected to be approximately 8-10 hours per week, with scheduled bar shifts 3-4 times per week (Thursday-Sunday each week). Occasional overtime may be necessary.
The Assistant Trackside Manager role is seasonal. However, opportunity for employment with Kulshan Brewing on the year-round FOH team is available. In the off-season this person can continue as a full time bartender at our Sunnyland and Roosevelt (K2) locations, maintaining full time hours.
Reports to: Taproom Manager
Education Requirement: No Formal Education Required. Cicerone Beer Server Certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification within the first year.
Work Experience: Previous experience in the food or beverage industry, brewery specific experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
Compensation: Full Time, Hourly, $20 - $25/hr plus tips on bar shifts. Benefits include PTO, Sick Leave Pay, Employer Contributions to a SIMPLE IRA Plan, Medical Insurance, Employee Paid Dental, Vision and Accident Insurance, monthly beer benefits, and annual merchandise gift card.
The Assistant Trackside Manager will be the lead person at the Trackside Beer Garden. This person will work three or more days per week behind the bar, take a lead role in overseeing the day-to-day operations, assist with supply orders, train new hires, maintain appropriate inventory, and assist with event execution. The Assistant Trackside Manager will communicate regularly with the Taproom Manager, and support the flow of information between FOH staff and the Taproom Manager. This position is responsible for upholding and demonstrating company values and policies, while ensuring our standards of quality and service to customers are met.
Prior food and beverage experience, base knowledge, and passion for craft beer are required. Cicerone Beer Server Certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain the certification within the first year of hire. Supervisory experience is desired. Must be team oriented and interested in continuing to increase your knowledge of craft beer.
