Job Summary:
Salty Dogs is a home-based grooming salon where we offer a one on one grooming experience for each pet, provide a stress free atmosphere (for both groomers and pets) and focus on providing a positive experience with high quality grooming service for each and every customer. Salty Dogs opened in May of 2023 and we have grown exponentially to the point where we are seeking some extra help! We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Groomer to join our team 3 days a week. As a Groomer, you will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of pets, ensuring their well-being and providing satisfactory cuts to all breeds, all lengths and styles. If you have a passion for animals and possess the necessary grooming skills, we would love to hear from you! Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, haircuts, and nail trims on various breeds of dogs
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets during the grooming process
- Provide excellent customer service by listening to pet owners' requests and addressing any concerns. (We strive to create close connections with all of our customers, good communication and a positive attitude is a must!)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area
- Monitor pets for any signs of health issues or abnormalities and report them to the appropriate staff member
- Follow grooming instructions provided by pet owners
- Stay up-to-date with current grooming techniques and trends in the industry
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pet Groomer in a Salon atmosphere
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the pet and groomer
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality grooming services
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and understand their preferences
- Ability to handle pets with patience, kindness, and compassion
- Certification from a reputable pet grooming school is preferred but not required
