Benefits Administration: The administrator oversees the administration of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability coverage and other volunteer benefits and ensures that employees are enrolled in the appropriate programs and that their coverage is accurately reflected in the HRMS.
Employee Enrollment: The administrator manages the enrollment process for new hires, guiding them through benefit plan options and assisting with the necessary paperwork including handling all changes or updates to employee benefits due to life events.
Communication and Education: The administrator serves as a resource for employees, providing information and answering questions about payroll, benefit plans, eligibility, coverage, and claims. They may conduct employee education sessions, create benefits -related communication materials and assist with open enrollment process.
Payroll: Manage all functions related to the processing and reporting the company’s bi-weekly payroll ensuring the process is accurately prepared, verifying all data, reporting and related tasks.
Payroll Integration: Collaborates with the Finance department, the specialist ensures that employee benefits deductions, and employer contributions are accurately reflected in employees’’ paychecks. They reconcile payroll reports to verify the accuracy of benefit deductions and trouble shoot issues as they arise.
Record Maintenance: Accurate record-keeping is essential for benefits administration, the specialist maintains employee benefit records, including enrollment forms, beneficiary designations, and other related documents and manage electronic databases and systems to track employee benefit information.
Qualifications
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in business administration, human resources, accounting, finance or a related field.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required.
At least 5 years Payroll experience
At least 5 years benefit administration
Familiar with a variety of HRMS systems such as ADP, Paychex, Paycom, or similar platforms
Proficient to Expert level with Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills
Ability to learn new programs and processes as needed
Spanish & English speaking preferred
