This is career-building opportunity is located in the Bellevue, Washington region and offered on a long-term contract / temporary basis. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, your will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.Major responsibilities
Partake in annual closing processes
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Foundational knowledge in journal entries
SEC Reporting experience required
Deep understanding of SEC Reporting
Account reconciliation experience
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Great attention to detail
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Skilled with ERP systems
