Sr Pre-Construction Manager, Global Build Services (GBS)

As a Sr Pre-Construction Manager, GBS you will support the development and execution of Pre-Construction activities. You will work closely to develop and iterate pre-construction processes and tools with partner stakeholders such as Design Engineering (DE) for use during initial planning, conceptual design, schematics progress, and design development. The outputs of this Pre-Construction support will be cost, schedule, and constructability guidance.The Global Build Services (GBS) team is dedicated to developing and iterating on core business activity processes to ensure smooth, consistent, and safe delivery of data center capacity. If you have experience driving global pre-construction standards, bid documents including the plans, specifications and general requirements to describe all the elements of a construction project and working within a broad design and construction infrastructure environment, then you could be the right candidate.A day in the life Work with AMER construction teams to identify and resolve pre-construction process issues Develop and iterate on standardize pre-construction tools/templates/processes Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation Provide input into global standards and data center template designs. Act as the point of escalation for complex constructability issues. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent. 10+ years of experience in data center delivery (design, commissioning and construction) or equivalent. 10+ years of detailed knowledge of critical data center equipment (Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers, Power Feeders, Chillers, Plumbing, Fire Detection/Suppression, Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling/Conditioning Units, UPS, CRAH, CRAC). 10+ years of experience developing and presenting business case analysis to senior leadership.Preferred Qualifications Proven track record in creating and releasing high quality, consistent documentation for processes, standards and procedures. Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM). The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
