DescriptionJob Title: Financial CounselorSummary – This is a contingent Opportunity and would begin work upon the contract award.Zeiders Enterprises, Inc. is seeking candidates for Financial Counselors to support the Military OneSource contract. The Military OneSource contract provides services for military members and their families, similar to a commercial Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program provides a broad array of information, resources, referrals, and counseling to military Service members, their families, and eligible civilians at locations worldwide. Financial Counselors support eligible clients with quality financial education and counseling to maintain their financial readiness. This is accomplished through assistance with financial stability, money management, and anticipated financial challenges that come with military service. Counselors are to provide financial education and counseling by helping clients understand their options and are prohibited from providing financial advice or engaging in financial advising. Full-time positions are remote (work from home) positions and support will be provided via secured video conference, telephone, or chat.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide personal and family financial counseling, goal setting, education, awareness information services, appropriate referrals, and assistance applicable to military families. Counseling services may be provided individually, to couples, and to families

Provide support and assistance with financial stability, money management, anticipating financial impacts due to challenges incident to military service

Assist eligible participants with Personal Financial Management (PFM) by providing factual, unbiased information that empowers them to make independent and informed financial decisions and providing financial education including appropriate guidance regarding the Service Member’s Civil Relief Act (SCRA) Public Law 110-289 Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 as well as other pertinent laws and policies

Educate and collaborate with clients on common topics to include but not limited to banking, finance charges, budgeting/spending plans, debt management/reduction, credit building, credit repair, predatory lending, large purchases, general investing education, estate planning, and retirement planning

Document all financial counseling case records in the Government’s electronic case management system (eCMS)

Maintain contractually mandated training requirements

Required Education and/or Experience Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience that provides the individual with the ability to serve as a financial counselor

National certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor®(AFC), Certified Financial Planner® (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC)

Comprehensive and current knowledge of financial counseling, military culture and life training, and current issues affecting military families (e.g., relocation, separation, and deployments).

Demonstrated experience in utilizing MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Knowledge and understanding of the military lifestyle

Understanding, sensitivity, and empathy for Service members and their family members.

Ability to develop trusting helping relationships.

Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Ability to use sound professional judgment, ethical practice, and common sense.

Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate financial needs of individuals and families.

US Citizen

Must pass a pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing financial counseling/consultation remotely

Experience working in a call center environment

Fluent in Spanish

Other Skills and Abilities This position requires travel and access to U.S. Government facilities and systems. Physical Demands: Works in office areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Training Curriculum Specialist uses a personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers, and other office equipment.
