This staff position will act as a liaison to the dietitian on-call and has an impact on patient satisfaction and our ability to continuously improve quality and safety by providing patients with nutritional information and healthy food choices during their hospital stay.Job Description:QUALIFICATIONSEducationRequired:Associates Degree in Nutrition or BS in NutritionExperienceRequired:Two years of experience as a Diet TechnicianPreferred:Experience in a supervisory or lead capacityOther Skills/Knowledge RequiredFor safety and quality issues, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and fellow members of the hospital team. Basic computer skillsJOB FUNCTIONSTroubleshoots operational issues and customer service calls and complaintsActs as a direct liaison to Dietitian on callFollows the proper chain of command to resolve concernsDemonstrates clinical expertise in the assigned area and fosters a climate of clinical and professional excellenceProvided performance feedback to staffCompletes menus with patients in accordance to food allergies, ethnic and cultural issues, food preference, and the nutritional plan determined by the DietitianSets up and feeds patients as neededRetrieves food carts from kitchen and delivers to patient floorsCompletes basic clinical documentationGathers Quality Assurance dataMaintains a clean and safe environment to enhance patient satisfactionAs a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
