Medical Coder

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Coder in Williamsburg, Virginia. The client is requiring a CPC designation. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for ensuring that medical codes are assigned and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.Responsibilities: Accurately assign and sequence codes as per government and insurance regulations. Strict adherence to medical coding guidelines and policies. Receive and review patients' charts and documents for verification and accuracy. Follow up and clarify unclear information with relevant staff members. Collect information from various sources to prepare monthly reports. Implement strategic procedures and choose strategies and evaluation methods that yield correct results. Examine reported medical malpractice by analyzing and identifying the medical procedures, diagnoses or events that led to negligence. Utilize skills in Accounting Software Systems, EHR SYSTEM, IBM AS/400, Medisoft, Microsoft Excel, Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, Collection Processes, CPC-AS, CPCS, HCPC.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with EHR SYSTEM Familiarity with IBM AS/400 Proficient in Medisoft Strong skills in Microsoft Excel Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of Appeals process in medical billing Ability to perform Billing Functions effectively Experience with Claim Administration Familiarity with Collection Processes Hold a CPC-AS certification Hold a CPCS certification Knowledge of HCPC codes Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
