This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area, at a company where effort is rewarded. To thrive in this position, you will need to be a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.Responsibilities
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience with ERP systems
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Proficiency in reconciliations
Foundational knowledge in Yardi
Solid understanding of general ledger
