Description We are seeking a Home Health Medical Billing Specialist for a role based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This Home Health Medical Billing role is in the Sr Care Healthcare industry and offers a contract employment opportunity. As a Home Health Medical Billing Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining excellent billing practices, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all processes.Responsibilities: Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for home health services provided, ensuring all claims are accurately processed Maintain and update patient accounts, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients and liaise with insurance companies to resolve any issues Ensure all billing activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures Keep detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and any correspondence with insurance companies and patients Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to address billing inquiries and discrepancies Utilize Microsoft Excel and other relevant software for billing functions and claim administration Handle appeals and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB) in relation to Medicaid and Medicare Billing Utilize Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) for billing procedures where necessaryRequirements Familiarity with Medicaid Billing and Medicare Billing is needed Understanding of the EOB - Explanation of Benefits is crucial Proficiency in Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is required; having a login is preferred but not required. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Billing Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Experience in handling appeals is necessary Knowledge of Billing Functions is essential Experience in Claim Administration is required Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills Attention to detail and ability to multitask are essential Candidate should be able to work independently and in a team environment Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and medical codes is necessary Familiarity with healthcare software systems is a plus Must have strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive information confidentiallyRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
