Apex Systems has an immediate need for a Network Engineer in VA Beach, VA This be a 6 Month Contract to Hire supporting one of our Major Government Clients in the area as well as SOCOM/Special Forces! Please see below for all details.

Title: Network Engineer Location: VA Beach, VA Pay Rate: $43 - $50 per hour Salary Rate a Permanent Hire: $95,000 - $115,000 (+ Full Benefits) Layout: 6 Month Contract to Permanent Hire

Requirements
  • TS/SCI Clearance Eligibility
  • Sec+CE
  • 2+ years experience working with Cisco, firewalls, IDS, router/switches

Description: Installs; implements; tests; and performs problem isolation and resolution. Monitors; tunes and sets standards. Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems. Provides client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities. Plans and coordinates computer network initiatives. Researches; evaluates and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies. Devises solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Provides internal consulting; technical guidance; information and support to application developers; computer operations; workstation support; company management and departmental clients. Works with other network professionals as directed; to coordinate efforts; resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.
  • Requires a good working knowledge of network administration and information systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of business software applications
  • Should be able to distinguish between hardware problems; software problems or user error
  • Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve problems; most of them moderately complex
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments
  • Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
  • CCNA is a (Nice to Have)
