DescriptionCherry Bekaert, a full-service accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Outsourced Accounting Services part of its Government Contracting Practice in Vienna, VA to provide accounting support to a wide variety of government contracting clients. We are looking for a talented accountant with 1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience or a recent Accounting major graduate ideally with strong internship experience, who learns quickly in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles. Applicant must be US citizen. Highly competitive salary and total compensation package.Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

Assisting with monthly close processes

Account reconciliations and follow through to resolve and reconcile items

Documentation of accounting processes and control reviews

Preparation of customer invoices and review and analysis of open AR

Supporting AP, expense report analysis, credit card reconciliations, and payroll processing (in conjunction with a third-party payroll processing company)

Analysis of accounting data and financial report preparation

Work on multiple engagements with competing schedules and deadlines

Staff Accountant Requirements:

Strong knowledge and understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles

Minimum BS/BA in Accounting

1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience OR a recent Accounting major graduate ideally with strong internship experience

A solid understanding of MS office – intermediate Excel

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Extremely detail orientated with strong analytical skills

Good time management and organizational skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to successfully collaborate and communicate with other team members to achieve successful results

Exhibits strong ethics, positive attitude, and calm demeanor under pressure
