Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Supervisor/Manager in Suffolk, Virginia. The successful candidate will be based in our office and will be responsible for managing payroll functions in our organization. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of payroll management and benefits administration.Responsibilities Compile timesheets and process payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. Monitor and track employee attendance through time and attendance system. Reconcile benefit deductions from payroll with benefit invoices and set up payment arrangements for any missed deductions. Process all deductions, garnishments, child support, levies, etc., that affect employees' net wages. Prepare and process all quarterly and annual payroll reports, including W2s for employees. Handle onboarding of all new hires, providing them with benefit information, company handbook and safety manual. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files. Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurances, and 401k plan. Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits programs and coordinate with insurance providers and third-party administrators for timely processing. Conduct audits and reconciliations of benefits accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and provide guidance on available options. Collaborate with the HR and Management team to develop and implement employee communication strategies regarding benefits programs. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to employee benefits and ensure compliance. Use Sage Software for handling payroll functions and ensure accurate data entry and record keeping. Requirements Proven experience as a Payroll Supervisor/Manager for at least 3 years. Comprehensive knowledge of payroll taxes and payroll tax reporting. Proficiency in using Sage Software for payroll management. Experience in handling full cycle payroll for 101-500 employees. Familiarity with payroll garnishments and manual payroll processing. Strong understanding of various payroll functions. Experience in managing weekly payroll and benefits payroll. Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a team. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, and benefits. Possession of a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferable. detail oriented certification in Payroll Management will be an added advantage. Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
