Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Project Assistant in Suffolk, Virginia. This role operates within the construction industry and involves project administration and bidding tasks. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment and will need to be highly organized, as this role is deadline-driven.Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate subcontractor bids, ensuring all details are accurate and submitted on time Oversee the process of obtaining building permits, quotes, and certificates of insurance as needed for projects Utilize MS Office suite to perform various tasks, including data entry and document creation Maintain an organized filing system for all project-related documents Ensure all project administration tasks are completed efficiently and on time, such as data entry and record keeping Maintain constant communication with various stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are being met Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are progressing as planned, addressing any issues that may arise Assist in the preparation of project reports and presentations for stakeholders Monitor project timelines and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met Continuously improve project administration processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry Proficient in using MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Demonstrated experience in filing, data entry, and maintaining accurate records Knowledge of subcontractor bids and building permits processes Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy in work Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think critically Professional demeanor and respect for confidentiality requirements.
