Join our mission today.Help shape the future of Flight Simulation! We seek an experienced DevOps Engineer to join Collins Simulation Solutions and Services (SS&S). As a valuable member of our team, you will be involved in the design, development, integration, and deployment of advanced capabilities in a high-performing virtual environment. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies independently as well as collaboratively.SS&S develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop trainers to high-fidelity weapon systems and full-flight training systems.This position is located onsite at our Sterling, VA, site. Must be a commutable distance to Sterling, VA to work an onsite schedule. This position may be eligible for relocation.What YOU will do:

Support and develop automation solutions that enable our teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently

Guide teams in designing, building, testing, and deploying changes to existing software

Resolve issues, which often requires strong troubleshooting skills, with build chain or CI/CD pipeline tools

Improve programs' CI/CD pipeline infrastructure

Identify manual processes that can be automated with recommendations for strategy and improvements; leverage prior experience with automated testing as part of a CI/CD pipeline

Consider the organization's entire CI/CD infrastructure when making changes and improvements

Develop, code, and test new software or enhancements to existing software

Qualifications you must have:

Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Skills we value:

Experience in automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.

Experience with container frameworks like Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.

Working knowledge of C/C/C# and/or object-oriented programming concepts.

Highly motivated self-starter who can work as part of a high performing team.

Development IDEs such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, or other related.

Experience with server-side scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.

Experience in continuous integration skills for real-time testing and diagnostics within a virtualized environment.

Experience with GitLab CI/CD, as well as prior DevOps experience with Jira, Coverity, Nexus, Artifactory, Ansible, Splunk or comparable substitutes.

Experience in application development and integration within one or more IaaS/PaaS (Red Hat OpenShift / VMware / OpenStack).

Familiarity with cloud networking frameworks (L2, L3, and spine-leaf architecture).

Experience in microservices using RESTful APIs.

Experience with Agile Development methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe, or other related.

Familiarity with maintaining and deploying database technology, such as SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MonetDB.

Familiarity with JSON, XML, YAML and XSD formats, rules, and usages.

Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.

Experience and/or interest in refactoring legacy systems for cloud or virtual environments.

Security Certification such as Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.

Experience in application development and integration within one or more cloud platform services such as (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMware Cloud).

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 113,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
