Job Title: EstimatorJob DescriptionManage a team of estimators, distributing workloads and mentoring staff. Create detailed cost estimates and develop high-level scope summary sheets with accurate quantity take-offs. Facilitate subcontractor outreach, visit project sites, prepare RFI’s, and participate in pre-proposal meetings to clarify scope. Evaluate projects for constructability, engage in value-engineering for cost savings, and develop competitive strategies. Manage the pre-proposal RFI process and maintain a list of clarifications and exceptions. Engage in subcontractor activities to nurture relationships and understand unique project requirements. Develop preliminary bid schedules, general conditions, and self-performed estimates. Collaborate closely with subcontractors and suppliers during the bid process to capture complete trade scopes. Manage the receipt of subcontractor and supplier pricing to develop the final selling price. Negotiate final scope, price, and other terms, and summarize estimates into accounting budgets. Occasionally negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders and track opportunities on government sites like SAM.gov and FedBizOpps.Hard Skills
