Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Smithfield, Virginia. This role involves a full cycle of accounts payable for a government entity, with tasks ranging from matching, batching, and coding invoices to interacting with vendors. The successful individual will also assist with check runs and other necessary tasks, including budgeting. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Process, match, batch, and code invoices accurately File invoices and maintain organized records Assist with check runs on a regular basis Liaise with vendors and address any issues or inquiries Conduct account reconciliations regularly Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry and other tasks Assist with budgeting and other ad-hoc tasks as needed Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Must have experience in accounts payable (AP) Ability to perform account reconciliation is necessary Experience in check runs is desirable Should be able to perform data entry tasks efficiently Knowledge and experience in coding invoices is a must Proficiency in invoice processing is crucial Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
