Our work is both domestic and international, supporting clients in the U.S. and projects abroad in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We advise clients on solutions for decarbonization, climate change mitigation, and infrastructure resilience. Examples of our work include supporting countries to mobilize climate finance to achieve Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), creating green budget taxonomies, and developing investable climate projects.Work you'll do

As a Critical Minerals Geologist at Deloitte you will assist in managing the global mining portfolio, specifically related to geologic field programs, after-action technical reports for geological field programs, mine closure trainings, ESG, and mine permitting.

QualificationsRequired:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

10+ years of experience working in mineral resource, experience with industry standard practices and requirements for estimating resource and reserve potential for critical minerals.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer. sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Ability to travel from 4 - 8 times per year internationally on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

Advanced degree from an accredited university in environmental studies, international development, public policy, or a related field.

Familiarity with leading practices in data requirements for mineral sector investors.

Experience providing expert advice to government entities and industry regarding mineral resource management, in both advanced and emerging economies.

Experience working on mineral resource exploration and mining project development.

Demonstrated ability to succeed in an interdisciplinary work environment, and to work in challenging operational environments requiring good judgment, discretion, and political savvy with strong interpersonal skills.

Strong technical writing and written and verbal communication and skills. Position requires significant international travel.

Ability to communicate and work in Spanish, French, or Portuguese an advantage.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
