HopeTree Family Services has immediate openings for Part-Time As Needed positions for Direct Support Professionals in our Developmental Disabilities Ministry (DDM) in Blue Ridge, VA, serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Providing a secure and responsive environment that enables each individual to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities
Providing guidance regarding social skills, transportation, health/personal hygiene, food preparation and housekeeping
Transportation to appointments, community events and outings
Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Experience or education in mental health, human services or related field is preferred
Demonstrated leadership ability, emotional maturity and patience necessary to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities
Good verbal, written and computer skills
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and acceptable driving record
Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner within the community
Background checks and pre-employment drug testing
