We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The DSP will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives while promoting their independence and well-being. Duties
Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs and preferences.
Monitor and document the progress of clients, ensuring that their health and safety are prioritized.
Provide companionship and engage clients in recreational activities to promote social interaction.
Support clients in developing life skills that foster independence, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal hygiene.
Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive support.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
Requirements
Experience in senior care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in a group home setting is a plus.
Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques is beneficial.
Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional nursing qualifications are a plus. We will provide training if hired on.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
