I am a one man electrical contractor who services mostly retail stores. I am in need of a service electrician who can assist me with various commercial projects. Once the candidate is up to speed on how my operation works the goal would be to move you into performing service calls independently. The amount of time it would take to get you out on your own will depend on your experience and how fast you can learn the ins and outs of the job. Be aware this is not a normal construction job. This is first and foremost a customer facing position as store management and customers are present in most of the places where we work. Customer service skills are a must.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience in order of importance:
- Experience as a service tech or a customer service position
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Ability to self manage and work alone
- Experience replacing and or servicing various commercial light fixtures
- Experience troubleshooting common commercial electrical issues
- Experience installing new circuits either in EMT or MC cable from panel to end location in finished buildings
Compensation will be $20-$35/hr depending on experience.
You can expect an average of 30 hours per week starting out. That can go up or down depending on the workload. As you take over more of the field work the hours will increase.
Unfortunately I am currently too small a business to offer any benefits.
