Established awning company looking for skilled mechanic/tradesman to fabricate awnings in the Richmond Area. Experience with hand tools is required; at least two years of construction or warehouse experience preferable. Must be in good physical condition and able to accomplish standard construction tasks.
Full Time career position. Report to the same shop everyday. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, hard working, and comfortable climbing ladders. Valid driver's license and forklift certifications preferable. Health care, paid vacation, and paid holidays after 90 days!
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, add and subtract basic fractions, and can identify and describe the use of standard construction tools.
Qualified Applications should be able to correctly answer questions like these:
1) If you have an awning that is 132" wide, how many feet is it?
2) When should you use a wood screw vs a masonry screw?
3) What is the difference between an A-frame ladder and an extension ladder?
4) When should you use a hammer drill vs a standard drill?
5) Why is a carpenter's pencil rectangular?
