Small litigation firm looking for part time help. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to contribute to a fast-paced environment and gain hands-on experience in litigation. You will work directly with clients, manage case files, and assist in preparing for court appearances and trials.
Responsibilities:
Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Assist with case preparation, including organizing evidence and exhibits.
Manage and maintain case files, including electronic filing and document management.
Schedule client meetings, depositions, and court hearings.
Conduct legal research as needed.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Prepare and file court documents and ensure deadlines are met.
Manage attorney calendars and reminders for important deadlines.
Handle general office duties such as answering phones, filing, and faxing.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a litigation setting (preferred).
Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and filing systems.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CLIO) and legal research tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
Pay will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the position.
