Hello. My name is Bryant. I am a 60-year-old disabled white male. I have a caregiver, but we need some additional help and backup/redundancy with my daily care. I do not qualify for Medicaid assistance, and I do not have sufficient income to afford private care; therefore, there is no cash salary. What I do have is a very nice, big home which I’m sharing with my caregiver and interested in offering a bedroom and bath with full access to kitchen, laundry, utilities and internet to another caring individual in return for the aforementioned added assistance.
I live in Dinwiddie County. The things I need assistance with include getting dressed, out of bed and into my wheelchair in the mornings and the reverse in the evenings, helping me turn over once during each night, being catheterized, going to the bathroom, daily hygiene, etc. as well as laundry and light housekeeping. Typically, I would say my time needed each day would be approximately 4 to 5 hours between 6 AM and 11 AM, in the evening between 9 PM and 10 PM and about 15 minutes between 1 AM and 2 AM help me turn over in bed. The rest of the day would usually be available for full or part-time work or whatever you wish to do with it (unless I have an appointment somewhere which is very infrequent). Applicants should have knowledge of or be willing to learn male catheterization as well as helping with suppository induced bowel movements.
No drug users, no alcoholics, no indoor smokers. I will not decide overnight, so if you are needing something yesterday and don’t have time to meet and discuss things a few times, please move on.
