Front of house upscale/fine dining servers and restaurant professionals wanted in the Richmond City area for spring season and forward. Ideally 5 years or more of fine dining or upscale dining experience. Special interest given to those with above average knowledge of spirits/liquor/cocktails, wine and beer. And those that have special events and banquet service experience.
Must have full time availability to include weekends, including Sundays, and every major holiday. Only evening shifts aside from a few holiday shifts to include Mothers’ day, Christmas and Easter, amongst others. Holiday availability is a non-negotiable although the pay is usually in the $300-$600+ range (tips and service charges).
Do not express interest if you are not able to work sundays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s eve. This is a non-negotiable for a first year employee.
Servers can expect to work 6-8 hours (usually 30-35 hours per week for five shifts) a shift and make $200+ per shift. There are occasional swings, but if you are able to sell, there are lots of opportunities to make great money for the hours and area. It is not unheard of to make $5K or more per month after tip outs. Certain months the pay is even more. $50-70K+ per year. Shifts start at 4 pm on week days and at 2:30 pm Saturdays and Sundays. Shifts usually conclude between 9 and 11 pm depending on season and bookings.
Must have reliable transportation. Be on time, sober and on their game. Must be able to work on as a team member on events. Must be able to regulate their emotions, remain courteous, polite and professional. If you cannot explain the differences between the major spirits/cocktails (and their ingredients), wines and beers, do not waste your or our time. If you do not feel confident about your knowledge of upscale dining and cooking, do not bother. If you have a drinking or substance abuse problem, please don’t apply.
This shouldn’t be your first or second serving job.
