Wash dishes at Edo’s Squid, one of Richmond’s oldest and most popular restaurants. Award winning Italian comfort food. Both upscale and casual. A second story hole in the wall in Richmond’s Fan District near VCU.
We employ a staff wide tip pool. Each member receives an equal share of the evenings tips. Make front of house wages working back of house. Hourly wage starts at $12. Tips average $100-200 nightly. $25/hr average. Other perks include family meal, shift drink and two annual vacations. Exceptional hires will earn the opportunity to learn to cook at one of Richmond’s finest restaurants, an excellent on-job culinary education. Shifts start at 3:00pm. We close at 10:00 during the week and 11:00 on the weekend.
This is not an easy job. Hard workers only. Work experience as a dishwasher is a plus but not necessary.
Must haves:
-ability to work in a fast-paced environment and carry heavy loads
-ability to work in a hot, humid environment and stand for an 8 hour shift
-ability to bend, stoop and reach frequently
-ability to work with hot and sharp objects
-excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Responsibilties:
-set up dish station
-maintain a clean kitchen
-properly wash and sort dishes
-wash pots and pans by hand
-ensure there are always enough cleans dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, especially during peak hours
-maintain clean and dry floors throughout shift
-maintain trash cans throughout shift and remove full trash cans and boxes at the end of each shift
-maintain the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves
-assist in timely storing of food deliveries
-assist in maintaining dish machine
-follow posted daily dish cleaning duties
-assist in food prep and other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed
