He/She will work on automation projects that drive optimal performance, repeatability, continuity and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments in our multi-cloud cloud ecosystem, through the delivery of automation artifacts. He/She will also work on designing automation solutions and delivering engineering proof of concepts in alignment with enterprise engineering services and architecture teams. The Senior Cloud Automation Architect will work on assignments involving moderately complex to substantially complex problems where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors to understand the process and to provide a repeatable, automated solution.Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Automation Architect not only delivers IT automation projects, but also performs technical planning, design and develops specifications for new IT automation products and service offerings

Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services in order to ensure an integrated design across interdependent technologies through collaboration with other business units and identifies opportunities for automation. This may include the outlining of processes, creation of solution design, install applications relevant to automation, creation of proof of concepts, creation of engineering solutions and designing and executing testing to validate solution

Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action

Performs assessment of workloads for fit into one of several cloud deployment form factors - IaaS, PaaS, Serverless Functions etc. and guides infrastructure teams in implementing creative solutions on public cloud infrastructure, as well as helps application teams to move to target form factor

When appropriate, develops Infrastructure-as-Code templates for deployment of assets into public cloud environments. Further develops configuration management playbooks to bootstrap applications onto deployed assets

Provides guidance and engages on migration of application components from on-premises to cloud. This not only includes advisory/consulting responsibilities, but also includes the actual implementation/engineering involved in the process. i.e., this is not an advisory-only role - this is a highly engaged role in which the candidate will need to be hands-on, and work on the actual migration, stand-up and cutover of the application/capability in the public cloud

Finally, candidate must have an 'Automation First' mindset - fundamentally will not accept doing things over and over by hand. Responsible for evaluating and implementing orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with the highest level of accuracy where cloud computing is concerned

Use your skills to make an impactRequired Qualifications

5 or more years of experience in IT & Engineering, with recent focus on automation engineering

Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform & Ansible, or equivalent

Proficiency with shell scripting

Experience with one or more full programming language

Proficiency with Git and collaborative code reviews.

CI/CD experience (GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins)

2 or more years of technical experience with Cloud platforms

Experience integrating new technologies with existing technologies

Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impact

Excellent written and verbal skills; confidently and professionally interacts with internal teams; external stakeholders and customers. Ability to inspire, influence and lead others without direction.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications

Experience automating and integrating multiple technologies to deliver end to end solutions (ServiceNow, Secrets Management, LDAP services, etc.)

Experience working in an Agile or hybrid Kanban product methodology

Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science / Engineering. Relevant experience can substitute.

2 or more years of project leadership experience

Experience as a software developer outside of operations and automation.

WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

Scheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$126,800 - $174,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
