Topics include renewable and alternative energy strategy, infrastructure deployment, regulatory affairs, grid modernization, transportation electrification, etc. Prior knowledge of these or other dimensions of energy policy, the utility industry, and/or the political process will be looked upon favorably but is not required.The ideal candidate possesses excellent written and oral communications skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while balancing competing priorities. They must be comfortable working either individually or in small teams. They work to heighten awareness of the company's role in the communities it serves and may represent the company and communicate its positions, policies and programs. They may work with more senior level staff to establish consistent and effective communication channels with public officials and ensure prompt and appropriate company responses to questions/complaints/problems.Above all, the ideal candidate is intellectually curious, pragmatic, conscientious, and undaunted by complex or unfamiliar research assignments.Specific responsibilities include:

Assisting with the legislative review and tracking functions of Corporate Public Policy across Dominion Energy’s nationwide footprint

Contributing to research projects involving public policy matters, regulatory proceedings, and peer company benchmarking

Assisting with writing assignments, legislative position statements, talking points, presentations, and other communications used externally

Monitoring and reporting on third-party conferences and webinars, stakeholder meetings, regulatory proceedings, and legislative hearings

Supporting development and review of documents for the Annual Meeting of Shareholders and various policy-related reports and disclosures

Coordinating with internal subject matter experts and synthesizing their input to draft briefing documents and other materials

Performing other duties as assigned

Ability to develop timely answers to research questions; ability to analyze large volumes of information and identify the most pertinent details

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor communications for various audiences

Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to identify and edit for problems in substance, grammar, tone, etc. in a variety of forms of work product

Effective interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and with others; ability to develop rapport with all levels of management and staff

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
