Description We are seeking a Senior Procurement Consultant in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves reviewing requisitions for quality and compliance, strong communication and relationship skills, and procurement experience, specifically with e-procurement/ERP platforms. This job function will be carried out in a state agency setting, with a focus on buying processes, government procurement, procurement functions, procurement requests, and purchase orders. Responsibilities: Review and validate procurement requests to ensure quality and compliance Utilize e-procurement/ERP platforms to manage procurement activities Maintain strong communication and relationship skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders Use your procurement experience to optimize purchasing processes and procedures Handle buying processes efficiently and effectively Understand and navigate government procurement procedures Contribute to procurement functions with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with organizational policies and procedures Create and maintain procurement records and documents for reference and auditing purposes Collaborate with other team members to accomplish project goals and meet deadlinesRequirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a role related to procurement. Demonstrated experience with buying processes, government procurement, and procurement functions. Strong understanding of procurement requests and purchasing procurement processes. Ability to manage and process purchase orders effectively. Proven experience with creating and managing statements of work. Ability to advise on and implement procurement strategies. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in using procurement software and other related tools. Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure.
