Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to be a part of our team. Situated in Richmond, Virginia, this role involves the efficient management of customer accounts, processing of credit applications, and resolution of customer inquiries. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will also be entrusted with the task of tracking customer accounts and initiating suitable action.Responsibilities: Efficiently process credit applications from customers Accurately maintain customer credit records Collaborate with other team members on larger financial projects In charge of maintaining and updating our accounts payable records Communicate with vendors for resolving invoice discrepancies and queries Conduct audits to ensure the accuracy of invoices and figures Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and management reports Develop and implement improvements in the accounts payable process Adhere to our internal accounting policies and procedures Carry out general bookkeeping and assist in preparing monthly and annual reports. Requirements Proficiency in Account Coding is required. Ability to use Accounting Software Systems efficiently. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential. Familiarity with Concur software is necessary. Practical experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Strong understanding of general Accounting Functions. Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures. Knowledge of Accrual Accounting principles. Experience in Auditing is preferred. Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.
