Our Company is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Workers’ Compensation Case Manager.
This position would work in an office setting one or two days per week and the remainder of the time remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
Being able to communicate verbally and in writing is essential
Contact appropriate parties; claimant and employer to obtain facts of injury within twenty-four hours of receiving claim assignment
Verify facts of loss and pertinent claim facts
Ensure all filings and Federal mandated forms are completed timely
Check voice mail regularly and return calls within four hours of receipt
Continue contact throughout the life of the file
Utilize active listening and critical thinking skills to quickly analyze and clearly understand a specific request or customer need and then leverage knowledge and resources to provide appropriate solutions
Review active claim files weekly and document all claim activity in a case management system
Document plan of action in the case management system for each claim
Maintain a diary for monitoring and directing case development and medical treatment
Review, process and conclude lost time workers compensation claims or those limited in exposure but occasionally complex in nature
Coordinate with doctor, injured employee and employer light duty return to work and monitor for full duty return to work
Monitor medical care to ensure appropriateness of treatment
Close files as appropriate in a timely and complete manner
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Six years-experience in private sector or federal workers compensation claims environment which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities, such as experience in reviewing, investigating, and closing complex workers compensation claims.
Bachelor’s degree and or relevant combination of education and experience.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
Ability and proficiency in the use of computers and company standard software specific to position.
Knowledge of medical and legal terminology related to the work.
Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective customer service skills.
Ability to negotiate, build consensus and resolve conflict.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
Attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
