This team of highly passionate Operations engineers is responsible for supporting Multi-Cloud applications team with a high degree of stability, reliability and security that exceeds customer and stakeholder expectations. In this role you will collaborate internally, and with other teams, developers, architects and product owners to develop platforms for Public Cloud and on-prem environments. You are able to pick up new technologies quickly, be a strong teammate, and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience Automating tasks, building and deploying Web apps and REST APIs on Cloudfoundry / AWS / Azure cloud in multi-region setups.Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:
Collaborates with project collaborators to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to resolve integration needs.
Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Develops software update process for existing applications. Assists in the roll-out of software releases.
Trains junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications.
Oversees the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers.
Assists in supervising and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget.
Works with Quality Assurance team to settle if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
Displays expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts and skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
Displays expertise in process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Design, deploy and run scalable and fault tolerant infrastructure to be used by services and applications.
Automate deployments and processes as needed to ensure accuracy and consistency
Engineering and supporting Hybrid cloud environments.
Collaborating with developers to help enhance the reliability and performance of the applications.
Implement security best practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, security hardening and auditing.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You'll Need:
7+ years of experience in DevOps, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Experience with a major cloud provider, such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
Experience with at least one of these languages: Java or Python
Experience using and maintaining CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, git, Concourse or similar tools.
Experience working with automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible
Understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and data formats like HTTP, JDBC, JSON, YAML.
Good understanding on concepts of multi-threading, cache, memory management, Java Virtual Machine.
Comfortable with operating systems like LINUX/UNIX.
Experience with Open source solutions for messaging, load balancing, and database software (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch).
Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, cloud foundry.
Experience with application clustering, load balancing, high availability, and reliability concepts and supporting technologies.
Experience with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or the ELK Stack.
Ability to communicate professionally and collegially with technical and management colleagues and team members.
Experience with monitoring and managing cloud resources, services for production systems.
A passion for providing excellent service to all internal and external customers.
A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with 5+ years professional experience.
